Drip
Mini Drip
"Drip" and "Mini Drip," explore the interplay between industrial materials and organic forms, driven by Pamela Tan’s passion for matcha. "Drip," the main ceiling sculpture, is crafted from steel with a green copper patina, evoking the vibrant hue of matcha powder. Inspired by the fluidity of melting ice cream, the sculpture captures the essence of liquid in motion, appearing to drip from the raw, rustic concrete ceiling. Delicate green crystal balls are perched at the tips, creating a harmonious balance between natural and industrial elements.
Extending this theme, "Mini Drip" comprises a series of shelf sculptures, each showcasing a single drip form. These pieces maintain the same materials and finishes as the ceiling installation, serving as artistic extensions of the "Drip" concept and creating a cohesive visual language throughout the space.
"Drip" and "Mini Drip" challenge conventional perceptions of material and form, inviting viewers to experience the space in a new and engaging way. The contrast of textures, colors, and shapes fosters a captivating atmosphere, deeply inspired by Tan's love for matcha. The raw elements of the copper patina and bare concrete enhance the organic and industrial feel, making these installations both playful and immersive delights.
